ITAR Compliance & Cybersecurity for Defense CNC Machining
ITAR Compliance
Olympus Machining LLC is registered with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) under the U.S. Department of State as required by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This registration is a prerequisite for legally manufacturing defense articles and providing defense services listed on the United States Munitions List (USML).
As an ITAR-registered precision CNC machine shop, Olympus maintains internal controls and procedures designed to support the handling of ITAR-controlled technical data and defense-related manufacturing activities. This includes restricting access to controlled drawings and technical data to U.S. persons only and maintaining records required for compliance.
Olympus provides CNC milling and CNC turning services for defense contractors, military equipment manufacturers, and aerospace OEMs. Components machined include weapon system brackets, communication enclosures, UAV structural parts, and mounting hardware for defense platforms. Cybersecurity & CMMC Alignment
Olympus Machining maintains cybersecurity practices aligned with CMMC Level 1 (Foundational) requirements and FAR 52.204-21 to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
CMMC Level 1 requires implementing 15 basic cybersecurity practices including access controls, media protection, and system communications safeguards. This alignment positions Olympus to work directly with DoD prime contractors and their supply chains, supporting programs that require documented cybersecurity controls from every vendor in the chain.
Quality Documentation for Defense Programs
For defense and aerospace projects, Olympus provides dimensional inspection reports, first article inspection (FAI) documentation, material certifications with full heat/lot traceability, Certificate of Conformance (CoC) statements, and documented process records. Our quality assurance processes ensure every part meets drawing requirements with documented evidence. Customers with specific documentation requirements should discuss needs during the quoting stage.
